“I got into DJing through the hip hop movement, winning the Victorian DMC DJ championship two years in a row. House music then beckoned and I was listed in DJ Mag’s first ever Top 100 Global DJs list. I went on to start a successful music label Vicious Recordings with Andy Van and Colin Daniels. I also produce original music, developed a nation-wide dance music radio show and hosted my own webcast for over sixty Saturday nights, during the Covid-19 isolation period.”
“I have mixed a stack of DJ compilations back in the era of CD albums, with over one million compilations sold in Australia that have included a John Course DJ mix. This includes releases with Ministry of Sound (seven editions of the iconic Annual), One Love, and through to my own Vicious releases.”
“I have played all over Australia, from huge events like Reminisce, Stereosonic, and Summerdayze through to Ministry Of Sound’s Testament and Orchestra events. I regularly play clubs around Melbourne and the rest of Australia, with Electric, Poof Doof, and One Six One being regular spots.”
“My DJ philosophy is to always bring new music but to keep some known music in my sets, to create a positive experience for the dance floor and always a happy, up vibe that doesn’t go over people’s heads!”
“Bohannon's ‘Let's Start The Dance’ — a1978 disco gem, Calvin Harris' ‘Feel So Close’, ‘Go Up’ (Butch Remix) by Cassius and ‘Cola’ by Camel Phat would be some crackers that never fail… but there are so many!!!”
“I love playing at Electric. It just has a proper club vibe. Cool, a bit dirty and crazy, but still fun. Not too commercial, quality music always being played, a cracking sound system, a killer crowd who get into it, and awesome staff.”
“I mostly play Electric and sometimes Emerson and Circus on the odd occasion.”
“Electric... see above... It ticks all the boxes for a great night out!”
“Johnny Walker Black and Coke Zero or Sugar Free Red Bull... Both bring me extra vibes in the healthiest way given what they are lol.”
“My sound can vary greatly. I play new music sets with a few throwback tunes at Electric, but at other venues and events I can play full disco sets, retro classic house sets, more underground, and party sets. I really adapt for the space and have been DJing for over 25years, so my sound has a deep knowledge of a great deal of music within it.”

“Rossi for food, then Electric and Circus to finish off...”

“As a DJ, Carl Cox is my most admired.Killer DJ and great vibe out of the DJ box and he has a great and wide musical knowledge. The Melbourne club scene has been my biggest influence and I’ve been a part of it for a long time — I deeply respect what we have here in Melbourne.”
