From his early days producing the iconic Onelove Compilation Albums, Andy Murphy quickly rose to become one of Australia’s most in-demand DJs.
Touring nationally and internationally, he’s performed at some of the biggest festivals and clubs across the globe — building a reputation for high-energy, genre-blending sets that push boundaries while keeping dancefloors moving.
As part of Jam Xpress, Andy delivered chart-topping dance releases and remixes, and now under his new project Nite Theory, he continues to evolve — bridging underground sounds with main-stage energy.

“My remake of Psycho Killer takes one of the greatest tracks of all time and flips it into an upfront club banger — keeping the attitude, but built for the dancefloor.”
Andy’s signature rework perfectly captures his approach to music: respectful of the past, but made for today’s dance floors.
“Definitely the Supergood parties at Electric! Those nights always go off — the crowd’s hit different, and there’s this electric (literally) vibe. The production, the people, the atmosphere — it all comes together perfectly. Every time I play there, it feels like a proper celebration of the scene.”
Andy regularly plays at Electric and The Emerson, both of which he describes as venues that “have amazing energy — great crowds, top-tier sound, and that proper Melbourne vibe.”
When it comes to his favourite, though, the choice is clear:
“Electric by far. It’s always an incredible vibe — an eclectic mix of people who just get the music. Plus, the staff and security are absolute legends — they’re such a big part of why those nights run so smoothly and feel so good.”
🔥🍸 “Spicy Margarita to bring the heat — always my go-to before a set!”
“My sound is upfront house and tech house with a touch of electro — high energy and built for the dancefloor. I move through tracks fast, layering acapellas and FX to keep the momentum and create those unexpected, hands-in-the-air moments.”

As for GCBG venues:
“Rossi — one of Melbourne’s best Italian restaurants. Perfect for a pre-gig meal or date night — great food, great atmosphere.
And honestly, I still love heading to Electric after dinner, even when I’m not performing — the vibe there never misses.”
Andy’s currently producing solo material and collaborating on Nite Theory Records with Gaz Kempster, with plenty of new music on the horizon.
He’s also been working alongside Ivan Gough, one of Melbourne’s most respected producers:
“Ivan’s really pushed me creatively and helped me grow as a producer. It’s been an exciting period of development and new sounds.”
“Definitely Daft Punk and 2manyDJs. Both had a massive impact on how I approach music — the energy, the creativity, and the way they blur genres.
They made dance music feel intelligent, fun, and unpredictable, which is exactly what I aim for in my own sets and productions.”
Stay connected with Andy Murphy and catch him live at Electric, The Emerson, and other GCBG venues.
